SMS Opt-In
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Overview
If OnSiteTech offers text-message communication, you can choose whether to receive SMS messages. SMS consent should be optional and separate from the basic information required to request computer or IT service.
Service-Related Text Messages
If you opt in to service-related SMS, OnSiteTech may text you about a request you submitted, scheduling or visit coordination, service updates, or information reasonably related to the service you requested.
Promotional Messages
OnSiteTech should not send promotional or marketing text messages unless you have separately provided the consent required for those messages. Agreeing to service-related texts does not automatically mean agreeing to marketing texts.
Message Frequency
Message frequency will vary based on your service request and the type of messages you have agreed to receive.
Opt Out
If the production SMS provider supports keyword opt-out, you can reply STOP to stop text messages from that program.
Help
If the production provider supports HELP, users may reply HELP for assistance. Otherwise, the page must instead direct users to 403-870-7772 or the website contact form.
Consent Records
OnSiteTech should keep a record of when, where and how SMS consent was obtained, including the consent language and the phone number involved, for as long as reasonably needed to demonstrate the consent and manage the messaging program.
Withdrawal of Consent
A person can withdraw consent to commercial electronic messages. OnSiteTech must honour valid unsubscribe requests in accordance with applicable requirements.
Privacy
Phone numbers and SMS consent records are personal information and should be handled in accordance with the OnSiteTech Privacy Policy.
