Mac Repair That Starts With What Your Mac Is Doing
Mac won’t start? Running slowly? Freezing, overheating, not charging, or just not working the way it should?
OnSiteTech provides on-site Mac and MacBook repair help at your home or business.
You don’t need to know whether the problem is macOS, software, storage, power, the battery, or another hardware issue before asking for help.
Tell us what your Mac is doing. We’ll start there.
- Microsoft Certified
- Price approved before we start
- 30-day warranty
- No fix, no labour charge
Mac Problems Don’t Always Tell You What’s Actually Wrong
A Mac that won’t turn on doesn’t automatically have a failed battery.
A slow Mac doesn’t automatically need new hardware.
And a MacBook that won’t charge doesn’t tell you which part is causing the problem.
That’s why we start with the symptoms, not an assumed repair.
We look at what the Mac is actually doing, narrow down the problem, and explain the appropriate next step before unnecessary parts or repair work.
Diagnose first. Repair what actually needs attention.

What’s Your Mac Doing?
- My Mac Won’t Turn On Press the power button and nothing happens? Or maybe the Mac powers on but never reaches the desktop? We can start by checking what happens during startup and narrow down the problem before assuming a particular component has failed.
- My Mac Is Running Slowly Long startup times, spinning beach balls, slow applications, delays or generally poor performance? We can troubleshoot what may be slowing the Mac down before you spend money replacing hardware—or the entire computer.
- My Mac Keeps Freezing or Crashing If your Mac repeatedly freezes, apps stop responding or the computer unexpectedly restarts, we can investigate what is happening and determine the appropriate next step.
- My MacBook Won’t Charge A charging problem doesn’t automatically mean the battery needs replacing. We can start by checking the charging problem before deciding whether a battery or another repair path is appropriate.
- My Mac Is Getting Too Hot If your Mac becomes unusually hot, noisy or slows down during use, tell us when it happens. We can investigate the symptoms rather than assuming the cause.
- I’m Having a macOS or Software Problem Updates, applications, settings and macOS issues can sometimes make a Mac behave like it has a hardware problem. We can help troubleshoot relevant software and macOS problems and determine what needs attention.
- I Don’t Know What’s Wrong That’s okay. You don’t need to diagnose the Mac yourself. Tell us what happens when you try to use it.
On-Site Mac Repair — We Come to You
You shouldn’t automatically have to disconnect your computer, carry it to a repair shop and wait for someone to look at it.
For Mac problems that can appropriately be diagnosed or handled on-site, OnSiteTech comes to your home or business.
We start where your Mac is normally used, look at the problem and help determine what needs to happen next.
If the problem requires work outside the scope of an on-site visit, we’ll explain that rather than pretending every Mac problem can be fixed at your desk.
MacBook Repair Starts With the Problem, Not the Part
MacBook problems can be misleading.
A MacBook that won’t charge may look like a battery problem.
A MacBook with a black screen may look like a screen problem.
A slow MacBook may look like it needs an upgrade.
But the symptom alone doesn’t always confirm the failed component.
That’s why we prefer to answer one question first: What is actually causing the problem?
Once that is clearer, you can decide whether the Mac needs a repair, a specialist service, an upgrade, or another solution.
MacBook Not Charging?
If your MacBook won’t charge, only works while connected to power, or its battery behaviour has changed, don’t automatically order a replacement battery.
The battery may be involved, but a charging symptom by itself doesn’t confirm the cause.
We can start by looking at what is happening and determine the appropriate repair path.
If the problem is confirmed as a battery replacement issue, we can route it to our Laptop Battery Replacement service.
Check first. Replace second.

Mac Running Slow or Freezing?
A Mac that used to feel fast can gradually become frustrating to use.
You may notice: slow startup; spinning beach balls; apps taking longer to open; delays switching between applications; frequent freezing; poor performance during normal tasks.
There isn’t one universal repair for a slow Mac.
The next step is to find out what is contributing to the problem before deciding whether software work, cleanup, hardware attention or another solution makes sense.
Mac Won’t Start or Boot Properly?
What happens after you press the power button matters.
Does your Mac do nothing at all, power on but show a blank screen, show the Apple logo and stop, restart repeatedly, reach the login screen but go no further, or display an error or unusual symbol?
You don’t need to know what those symptoms mean.
Tell us what you see. We’ll start there.

Cracked Screen, Battery Problem or Lost Files?
Cracked or Physically Damaged Screen — If the main problem is a physically damaged laptop display and you already need a screen replacement, see Laptop Screen Replacement.
Confirmed Battery Replacement — If the battery has already been identified as the problem and replacement is what you need, see Laptop Battery Replacement.
Lost or Inaccessible Files — If your main concern is deleted, missing or inaccessible files, start with Data Recovery.
Hardware Upgrade — If your goal is specifically to improve supported computer hardware rather than repair an unexplained problem, see Hardware Upgrades.
Not Sure? Stay here. Mac Repair is the right starting point when you know something is wrong with your Mac but don’t know exactly what failed.
Worried About the Files on Your Mac?
Tell us before work begins if the Mac contains files that are particularly important to you.
Repair and data recovery are different problems.
If your files are already missing, deleted or inaccessible, don’t treat a normal repair as a guaranteed way to recover them.
Start with Data Recovery so the data problem can be considered appropriately.
Repair the Mac or Replace It?
A problem doesn’t automatically mean you need a new Mac.
But repairing an older computer isn’t automatically the right decision either.
The useful questions are: What is actually wrong? What would be required to fix it? Does that repair make sense for this particular Mac and how you use it?
Diagnosis gives you better information before you decide where to spend your money.
Find out what’s wrong first. Decide what the Mac is worth spending on second.
Is Your Mac Covered by AppleCare or Apple Warranty?
If you think your Mac may still have Apple warranty or AppleCare coverage, it can make sense to check that coverage before paying for independent repair work that might already be covered.
If Apple coverage applies to the problem, you can decide whether using Apple’s service channel makes more sense before proceeding with independent repair.
How Much Does On-Site Mac Repair Cost?
Our standard on-site labour rate for home and business service is $99/hour.
If parts, equipment or additional approved work are required, those costs are separate.
We explain what we find and review applicable pricing before approved additional work begins.
